Generate/IEEE Soldering Workshop

Background:

While working with Generate Product Development as the Engineering Events Coordinate, I was tasked with creating events across different engineering orgs at Northeastern. The largest org I worked with was the NEU branch of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers

Workshop

Given the expertise of the IEEE members, we decided the best workshop would be teaching new IEEE members and Generate members how to solder properly. I coordinated with the leadership of IEEE to create a workshop plan and gather any materials for leading the workshop. Soldering being such a vast subject it was split into two major presentations and workshops: basic soldering and surface mount.

I published and collected any interested members for the workshop and booked an available space on campus. We were able to successfully run the introduction to soldering workshop where members were educated on best practices and walked through an example soldering. We reached out to the participants after the workshop for an feedback.
